Did anybody see Duke's punt toward the end of the first half of this mediocrely-played but fairly exciting Belk Bowl? Tight-roped down about 30 yards and died inside the 2. Best thing ever to happen to Duke football. And it was a punt.

Thing I'm watching: how much impact UCLA's excellent defensive front has on Florence's time in the pocket. Florence's only awful game this year was against TCU, which successfully blitzed Baylor more than any team this year. Florence threw four picks that night.

I don't get to watch Baylor on TV often, but every time I do I'm struck by how effective the line typically is. Martin could've picked one of three or four holes on that run. And UCLA's front 7 is no joke.

Baylor has been through a lot and has been working to build a good program. Coach Briles and his staff have done a great job. The players have also done a great job this year by not giving up when they were down.
